Join Fahari Aviation's comprehensive fixed wing RPL training program. Master advanced aerodynamic principles, extended-range operations, and regulatory compliance for commercial fixed-wing drone operations.

Duration 4-5 weeks
Flight Hours 8 hours
Simulator Hours 10 hours

What is this course?

Our RPL Fixed Wing course provides specialized training in fixed-wing unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) operation. You'll master everything from aerodynamic principles and flight envelope management to long-range mission planning and complex emergency procedures. This course exceeds all Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) requirements for commercial fixed-wing drone operations, preparing you for advanced applications including surveying, mapping, cargo delivery, and extended surveillance missions.

Perfect for

Commercial drone pilots seeking fixed-wing certification, surveying professionals, mapping specialists, agricultural consultants, cargo delivery operators, search and rescue personnel, and aviation professionals transitioning to unmanned systems operations.

Course Structure

Our comprehensive training program consists of four essential phases designed to transform you into a certified remote pilot

Theory & Examination

1.5 weeks

Intensive ground school covering advanced aerodynamics, extended meteorology, long-range navigation, comprehensive air law, and fixed-wing UAS-specific regulations. Learn about fixed-wing systems, extended flight planning, advanced risk assessment, and complex emergency procedures. The course concludes with the KCAA theoretical examination that comprehensively tests your knowledge of fixed-wing drone operations and aviation regulations.

Key topics include:

  • Fixed-wing aerodynamics and performance characteristics
  • Advanced weather interpretation and long-range decision making
  • Extended airspace classification and cross-country restrictions
  • Complex emergency procedures and advanced risk management
  • KCAA regulations for commercial fixed-wing drone operations
  • Long-endurance flight planning and fuel management
  • Advanced navigation systems and GPS failure procedures
  • Payload integration and center of gravity calculations

Simulator Training

1 week

Comprehensive simulator-based training using professional-grade fixed-wing flight simulation systems. Practice normal and emergency procedures in a controlled environment before progressing to actual aircraft operations.

Training modules include:

  • Normal takeoff and landing procedures
  • Stall recognition and recovery techniques
  • Engine failure emergency procedures
  • Crosswind landing techniques
  • Advanced navigation exercises
  • Instrument approach procedures
  • System failures and troubleshooting
  • Complex mission scenario training

Skill Test

2-3 days

Final evaluation consisting of theoretical oral examination, practical flight test, and comprehensive mission planning exercise. Demonstrate mastery of all fixed-wing operation procedures and emergency responses.
