What is this course?

Our RPL Multirotor course is designed to provide comprehensive training in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) operation. You'll learn everything from basic flight principles to advanced mission planning and emergency procedures. This course meets all Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) requirements for commercial drone operations.

Course Structure

Our comprehensive training program consists of four essential phases designed to transform you into a certified remote pilot

Theory & Examination

1.5 week

Comprehensive ground school covering:

  • Air Law
  • Human Factors
  • Navigation, Flight Planning, and Risk Assessment
  • Meteorology 
  • Principle of Flight Multirotor
  • UAS Technical and General
  • Radio Telephony Basic Principles

 

The course concludes with theory exams that test your knowledge on the above. Passing these exams is a key step toward obtaining a drone pilot license and operating legally under regulatory authority.

Practical Training

1 week

Our practical training includes a minimum of five hours of actual flight time, where you will actively pilot the drone. During these sessions, our experienced instructors will guide you through a series of exercises designed to build your skills and confidence. Once your instructor deems you competent, they will recommend you to complete your skills test.

Skills Test

Demonstrate your readiness to operate drones safely and professionally through a comprehensive practical assessment. Under the supervision of a KCAA-approved Designated Flight Examiner (DFE).

Successful completion of both the oral and flight test qualifies you for the issuance of your Remote Pilot License (RPL), as per Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) standards.

Requirements

Age Requirement

Be at least 18 years of age

Language Proficiency

Be able to demonstrate the ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language

Medical Certificate

Have a valid Class 1,2,3 Medical Certificate issued under the Civil Aviation (Personnel Licensing) Regulations.
